About UNFCCC YOUNGO

YOUNGO is the official children and youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). As the largest constituency within the UNFCCC, YOUNGO represents the voices of children and youth in international climate negotiations.

Established in 2009, YOUNGO brings together youth organizations from around the world to advocate for ambitious climate action, intergenerational equity, and youth participation in climate governance. The constituency works to ensure that young people's perspectives are heard and integrated into climate policy at all levels.

YOUNGO operates through various working groups focusing on different aspects of climate action, including adaptation, mitigation, loss and damage, finance, and capacity building. Members participate in COP meetings, intersessional conferences, and year-round advocacy efforts.
